Two homes with the same number of bedrooms can have very different packing lists. One kitchen might contain a few everyday dishes; another has serving pieces, small appliances, and a full pantry. Start with the things you plan to pack, then choose a tote quantity that fits your move.
Walk through the whole home.
Make a short list for each room, including closets, cabinets, a home office, and any garage or utility space. Count belongings that will go into totes separately from furniture, hanging clothes, unusually shaped items, and anything you will carry personally. This keeps your estimate focused on useful packing space.
- Kitchen: dishes, cookware, pantry items, and small appliances that fit safely.
- Bedrooms: folded clothing, linens, shoes, and drawer contents.
- Living spaces: books, games, decorations, and small household items.
- Office and storage: files, supplies, hobby materials, and seasonal belongings.
Leave room for protection.
A tote that looks large when empty fills faster once fragile objects are wrapped. Allow space for cushioning around dishes and breakable decorations. Dense items such as books also reach a comfortable carrying weight before a tote looks full. Plan those groups separately instead of treating every tote as interchangeable empty volume.
Our equipment uses black totes with removable yellow lids. Confirm the actual dimensions and handling limits before treating an online tote size as an exact match. The rental details supplied before booking will identify the equipment you can expect.
Choose how you want to pack.
If everything needs to be packed before moving day, estimate for the full list at once. If your schedule allows you to unpack some belongings before packing others, you may be able to reuse totes within the rental period. That depends on your own transport, access to both homes, and how much time you have. A tight move-out deadline usually leaves less room for that approach.
Use a small buffer, then check the package.
Set aside capacity for the things packed last: bathroom items, chargers, cleaning supplies, and the contents of the final cupboard. Compare your estimate with our available package sizes. If you are between quantities, explain your packing list in the quote request. Larger quantities and extra totes are subject to inventory; a second delivery should not be assumed.
Send the details that make the estimate useful.
Include your preferred quantity, delivery date, expected pickup date, both locations, and any uncertainty in the schedule. The base rental period is two weeks. If you expect to need longer, request that time before booking so availability can be checked across the whole period.
